Panel Proposals

​

There are two options for Panel proposals:

​

Open Panel Sessions: If you would like to organise an Open Panel the convenor/s are required to submit the title (no more than 15 words) and description (no more than 300 words). 

Open Panels may receive an unlimited number of papers submitted to them which will then be considered by the convenor(s). The number of papers accepted per Open Panel will vary. Open Panels that receive a high volume of submissions will be allowed to form no more than 5 panel sessions of 4 papers max per panel. These Open Panels will be scheduled in the programme as a Stream.

Call opens August 6th to close October 15th. You will be notified by 19th October.

Closed Panel Sessions:  Closed Panel Sessions: These are pre-arranged panels.

The panel convenor(s) should submit: the title (no more than 15 words) and description of the panel (no more than 300 words); list of participants including Chair, discussant (optional) and presenters; and abstracts for all papers.
Only one Closed Panel can be submitted per convenor. If you wish to add a second or third panel this can be done by having different convenors designated for each panel. We will permit submissions this way for a series of related themed closed panels that could be named for example, Religion and the Irish Free State 1, Religion and the Irish Free State 2, etc.

Call opens August 6th to close December 10th. You will be notified by January 21st.

Roundtable: These are pre-arranged sessions.

 

The Roundtable convenor(s) should submit: the title (no more than 15 words) and description of the Roundtable (no more than 300 words); list of participants including chair and participants.

 

Call opens October 8th and closes December 10th. You will be notified by January 21st.

Paper Proposals

​

There are two options for Paper proposals:

​

Individual papers – Abstract submission should include your name, the title (no more than 15 words), five keywords, and an abstract of no more than 300 words. The Scientific Committee will place accepted abstracts into a relevant panel. Call opens October 25th – close January 10th. You will be notified by Friday 5th March.

Individual papers submitted to Open Panel Sessions – Abstract submission should include your name, the title (no more than 15 words), five keywords, and an abstract of no more than 300 words. Your proposal will be assessed by both the panel Convenor and the Scientific Committee. In case your paper is accepted by the Scientific Committee but does not fit your selected panel it will be placed as an independent paper in another panel session. Call opens October 25th – close January 10th. You will be notified by Friday 5th March.

A full list of Open Panel sessions will be posted before the Call for Individual papers Opens.

​

Participants will have 20 minutes for individual presentations and 5-10 minutes for questions.

​

Note: Participants are restricted to giving one individual paper AND convening one Open or Closed Panel AND participating in ONE Roundtable. There is no restriction on serving as Chair or Discussant.
